Dicta vs Meetjamie: EU cloud vs on-device
Last verified: 2026-08-16
The short version
Jamie keeps your data in the EU. Dicta’s plan is to keep it on your device, one step further along the same instinct. Jamie’s desktop app genuinely records system audio locally and never adds a bot to your call, real strengths, but that local recording is then uploaded to Jamie’s EU servers for transcription and summarization; the audio is deleted afterward, not analyzed on the machine that captured it. Dicta’s meeting-analysis layer is designed to skip that upload step entirely: transcription, speaker separation and framework analysis running on the Mac the meeting happened on, so there is nothing to delete afterward because nothing was ever sent. It is included in Pro at launch.
Fact table
| Dicta | Jamie (MeetJamie) | |

Where Dicta is ahead at launch
Jamie’s own pitch, “no bot,” is one Dicta shares completely, and its EU-hosting story is a genuine privacy step over a US-hosted competitor. Read closely, though, Jamie’s claim is “our EU server sees your meeting briefly, then we delete the audio and don’t train on it,” while Dicta’s plan is “no server ever sees it.” That is a stronger claim on the exact axis Jamie sells itself on. Dicta’s roadmap also has no meeting-count or length caps the way Jamie’s Free and Plus tiers do, and its 18 built-in framework templates, sales frameworks including MEDDPICC, BANT, SPICED, Sandler and DISCO, plus customer success, meeting notes, team rituals, project, hiring and demo, with a custom-template editor, are planned as unlimited and built-in rather than a metered, tiered upsell.
Where Meetjamie is stronger today
The honest headline: Jamie is shipping today across Mac, Windows, iOS and the web, and it already does bot-free capture, the exact capability Dicta’s meeting feature is still building toward. Dicta’s on-device analysis is included in Pro at launch. If you need meeting notes, custom templates or a searchable meeting archive today, Jamie does that now and Dicta does not yet. Jamie also supports far more languages (99+ versus Dicta’s 25), covers in-person meetings alongside online ones, and offers ISO 27001 certification with SSO/SCIM enterprise controls that Dicta, as a local-first single-user app today, does not have a reason to build yet.
